Historical Details
The Common Prayer Book is historically significant because it was used in the daily office for Divine Service, in particular Holy Communion, Morning and Evening Prayer. Due to the known provenance of the Prayer Book it has excellent interpretative potential in how it was used in different services for the Anglican Church.
Originating from the English reformation in the mid 16th century, the revision of 1662 remained largely in use for the next 300 years, including the first century or so of St. John's Church.
