The book stand is likely made from cedar, consists of circular plinth with an angled upper surface which has a brass overlay bearing the letters; 'IHS' which is a traditional liturgical abbreviation for "Jesus". The brass overlaying attached by two screws in the centre; additional screw holes on the four corners have never been used.Significance: Local
