Physical Description
Memorial plaque on south side of north ambulatory.
Inscription:
The nave of this church was commenced in the year 1824, and built to the height of 24 feet. The walls of the chancel, transepts, dome, chapel and vestries were commenced in 1901, and completed within the following seven years. The gables and roof of the transepts were completed in the year 1927. The walls of the nave were carried up to their present height, and the aisles and new roof of the nave were completed in the year 1938.
Historical Details
Per the inscription, the nave was enlarged in 1938, and the commemorative plaque likely installed around that time. The extensions were consecrated in November of that year, but photographs of the time indicate several "finishing off" works were still in progress.
