Physical Description
Iron gates located at main and north entrances of the church. These are likely the ornate cast iron gates, not the welded steel pair that have been erected either side of rectory driveway.

Historical Details
According to a note by the late Jenny Gill, the cast iron gates were the gift of H. Gillett, likely the former principal of Launceston Church Grammar School. (Mentioned in linked biography of Mary Elsie Gillett).
They were erected in memory of Ernest Whitfeld, heavily involved at St. John's, Grammar and other aspects of public life. See linked biography.
