Historical Details

The building of St. John's Church was dedicated in December 1825, and the first organ installed in 1826. There was a choir from the earliest times, with organists also being choirmasters for most of the history of the choir. Not all choir and organ related documents are in this box. Some are interspersed in the general indexed correspondence (see link below) and others, such as specifications for the building of the organ, are filed with other building specifications (C2A Box 5).
