Biography
John McHugh (1831-1892) came from Scotland and worked as a potter in the Launceston area, founding his famous pottery works in South Launceston from 1872. The pottery eventually became McHugh Brothers Pty Ltd, and moved out of the family's hands in 1918, but continuing production until 1968.Source
