CEBS Rally - Group photograph

Physical Description
A framed picture of about 150 men and boys, this was likely at a camp location. Many of the boys appear to be wearing a kind of hood or scarf slung around their necks, and others may be wearing a bobble similar to those used by clubs and scouts. Boys in various parts of the picture have a cross-design emblem on the scarves/hoods which is the CEBS logo. With others in different parts of the photo, have different variants of scarves but have the same emblem.
This suggests a possible CEBS gathering with representatives from various centres, or possibly a rally was held at Launceston during the long weekend in June, 1959, during which 70 boys were billeted. Rallies and gatherings in that era were centred on the former Beresford House in Pitt Avenue, and excursions included hikes to Trevallyn Dam and Mt. Barrow.
Historical Details
CEBS was the Boys Movement of the Church of England in Australia, later known as the Anglican Church. It emerged during the early decades of the 21st century that instances of predatory behaviour and child abuse had occurred by some leaders towards young boys.
