Harry retired early in 1974, but later that year accepted a part-time position as assistant at St. John’s Church. He died in 1980, and in his memory a plaque was erected in the chapel of St. John’s.

Henry (Harry) Dewhurst Ikin (Revd.) was ordained priest in the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania and afterwards held appointments as rector of the Channel Parish and New Town, Ulverstone and Campbell Town.Harry retired early in 1974, but later that year accepted a part-time position as assistant at St. John’s Church.
