There are 2 styles of pews. Those that were located in the transept area beneath the dome were evidently donated in 1924. See index of correspondence 1COR-093 re donation of timber for pews. The pews from that era were more highly carved.
The 1938 pews (see Corr. 2Q-114) were the same design, but did not have the carvings on the pew ends.
The correspondence also suggests the earlier pews were a donation, but it is unclear whether they were also a memorial.
A number of the carved (1924) pews have been retained in the west gallery of the church, but the remainder (both kinds) are now in storage at St. Aidan's Church (mid 2023).

Historical Details
While faculty (diocesan approval) documents have not been located for either tranche of pews, the documents listed above clearly indicate that the 1938 pews were a memorial to Marion Bennett, who died in 1935.
