Banner for Mothers' Union - a memorial to Ida Victoria Alcock.
It bears the Mothers' Union emblem and a modern picture of The Madonna and Child. The inscription is on a small brass plate on the banner stand:

The banner was handed over to St. John’s M.U. by the Embroiderers Guild of Tasmania at the Adult Education rooms on Thursday June 6th, 1982. Present to receive the banner were Mesdames Sutton, Davis, Warren, Radford and Hebbink; and Misses Butler and Hughes.
Mrs. Radford thanked the members of the Embroiderers Guild on behalf of St. John’s M.U.
The banner was dedicated on 18th September 1982.
