Physical Description
Headstone from the grave of Revd. John Youl - originally located in the Cypress St. Cemetery (Burial Ground), the stone was relocated to Symmons Plains, the Youl family property, after the closure of the cemetery in 1909. When the family property was sold in 2012, it was donated to St. John's Church.
The headstone also served as a memorial to other members of the Youl family buried at the Cypress Street Cemetery.

Historical Details
Per description above, the headstone originally was made for the grave of Revd. John Youl, first incumbent of the Parish of St. John's Launceston, who died in 1827. See linked biography.
