Confirmation Service during the 1950s. Most of the girls are from Broadland House Church of England Girls Grammar School. At the time, the school hats were being changed from the wide floppy-brimmed panama to a neater small-brimmed panama with blue under the brim.

The unfinished chapel roof, completed during the 1982 restoration work. It had been in this state from 1911.

The Kitchen: (in Sunday School building). It separated the "bottom hall" from the "tin shed". Many a parish function was fed from this most faithful servant.

Rising damp on the wall of the Sunday School. One of the reasons why the building had to be pulled down.
(Note: this actually looks more like the result of a faulty downpipe. Similar problems were detected and remedied in the rectory circa 2017.)

Richard M. Green - a member of the first vestry. He served as rector's warden and was the general chairman of the "Every Membar Canvass" (giving campaign) of 1956.

The cornice over the clergy vestry door - not successfully renovated until 1982.
(Note: still issues due to under-sized drains in the 2020s).

The old garage (now replaced), the hedge (removed) and the gable of the old shed by the rectory (demolished). Even the tree has gone.

Frank Ikin: Came to St. John's in 1946. He was a sidesman and on vestry for many years, serving in the position of treasurer. He died in 1975.
