Biography
Maria Jane Parramore (nee Oakden) 1846 - 1896 was born at Launceston to Philip and Georgiana Oakden. She married George Parramore in 1877, and they had four children. She and George lived on the family property, Wetmore, near Ross.Both Maria and her husband George died young. He was only 50 years old when he died on 1st October 1893 and Maria was 49 years old when she died on 10th August 1896. In their memory the family gave a stained-glass window, featuring 'The Crucifixion', to St. John's Church for the chapel. The Parramores and the Oakdens had reserved pews in the church for many years. The inscription on the window reads:
